Wondering how to keep your children busy while they are on break or vacation from school? The Parks & Recreation Department has a wide variety of recreational programs including an extension of their popular after school program. Our qualified, creative staff will aim to deliver a memorable experience for all involved. We have a terrific summer planned for your children. Some of the activities included in the programs are arts & crafts, field trips, indoor & outdoor games, sports & water activities, tournaments, swimming, bowling and movies. There is also a free program for teens 12-14.

Summer will be here before you know it…We proudly present the Summer Activities Guide. You will find a variety of healthy, entertaining and educational activities to choose from. Each activity and event is designed to offer opportunities for people to put a little fun into their lives and create a sense of community spirit. Many new and exciting weeks are scheduled, so take a look and sign up for a great summer.

For those of you new to Elko or new to our program, we welcome you. We sincerely hope that you'll find that Elko is truly your place to play. For those of you who've been with us awhile, you'll find a variety of new classes and some of the old favorite ones. Be sure and get ahead of the game by signing up early.

During the summer months Elko Parks are filled to capacity for picnics, family gatherings, sports activities and special events. We are happy to see so many people in our community taking advantage of our beautiful facilities.

Brighten up a child's life by donating to our scholarship fund! Large or small, your sponsorship will help contribute to a child's participation in our recreation programs who otherwise may not be able to do so. Pick up a star at the Recreation Office or Elko City Hall or complete this donation form and return it to the provided address.

PHOTO POLICY
On occasion, recreation department staff may photograph or videotape participants in department programs/classes, or at special events/facilities. These photos are for recreation department use only and may be used in publications, brochures, pamphlets, flyers, or video productions.

The Recreation Department is always in need of recyclable items such as:

Paper Towel Tubes, Cardboard, Egg Cartons, Two-Liter Pop Bottles, Copper Wire, Tuna Fish Cans, Coffee Cans, Milk & Juice Cartons & Jugs, Thread Spools, Shoe Boxes, Soup Cans, Newspapers, Wall Paper, Glass Bottles, Baby Food Jars, Film Containers, ETC.!!
